multif

This university project, titled “MULTIF”, was developed within the Man and Environment course at NABA and focuses on the creation of multifunctional and sustainable sportswear. The concept is based on designing a single garment capable of transforming into multiple pieces to promote versatility and reduce overconsumption. The project combines functionality, innovation, and environmental responsibility, proposing an alternative to fast fashion through adaptable design and the use of eco-conscious materials.

multif is intended to be made using Sensichrom, a fabric that changes colour depending on pH levels, allowing users to vary the appearance of the garment without purchasing multiple items, and recycled nylon, a biodegradable material designed to decompose in anaerobic environments within five years. Other components, such as Green Zips made from recycled polyester, further reduce environmental impact.

MULTIF aims to demonstrate that sustainability can coexist with creativity and practicality. By merging technical research, material innovation, and modular design, the project reflects a new vision of fashion where garments are durable, transformable, and environmentally conscious, embodying a shift from fast consumption to thoughtful, circular design.
